What Are Nursing Scrubs?
You may not know this but the title of the television show "Scrubs" has more than one meaning. The first meaning relates to the competency of the hospital staff who appear on the show. If you were to walk into a hospital you may not want some of the characters on the show to tend to you. Their low level of competency makes the characters "Scrubs."
Another meaning of the word "Scrubs" comes from the medical uniforms worn by the hospital staff. Those uniforms are affectionately referred to as "Scrubs" by most people in the medical profession.
There are a number of different types of scrubs that doctors and nurses wear. There are Cross Over Scrub Sets, Print Scrub Tops, Solid Scrub Tops and Solid Scrub Bottoms, Elastic Scrub Pants; and the list goes on. The best thing about nursing scrubs is they are available in different colors. Majority of healthcare professionals have to wear the same color of scrubs or solid colored scrubs. However, nurses usually have a choice.
